Gear swaps??

A muscle mustang friend of mine asked about gear swaps for my car. He went from a 3.27 to 3.74 gears and it made a big difference.

Has anyone ever done gear swaps?

It does make a difference from what I hear. I'm getting one done Friday. 3.2 to 3.5 they also make a 3.9 for the 6MTs.

Who makes them? I haven't seen them on many mod sights. Do you have to change the ECU for your gauges?

Speed is sensed at sensors in the hubs so the gauges are unaffected by the final drive gears. I'm switching my 5AT from our stock 3.2 to the 6MT stock 3.5. 350Evo makes a 3.9 that the 6MT guys can switch up to. Performance Nissan also sells them.

Some 350Z guys with autos report nearly a half second faster quarter mile time with the 3.5.

Great mod. Only downside is the higher cruising rpm which means more noise and less mpg's.
