I tryed a search but came up with minimal info.....that being said, does anyone have any info., reviews, opinions or comments on the Nismo Short Shifter? Should I even get this shifter or should I go with another brand? Any info. that anyone can throw in my direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot folks!

If you can find a short shifter from Rogue Engineering, that's the best available option for the G right now. I've heard fair reviews of the NISMO and think it's probably 2nd. The B&M seems to get pretty poor reviews from most.

I've got the NISMO SS. I like it, especially the adjustability factor. -$0%, -20%, 0%, +20% over stock height. Also, if you do the install right, ensuring you replace the boot over the bottom of the shifter, and tighten everything down, you won't have any rattles or increased vibration.

Just my two cents.

Where did you buy it? How much?

Thanks for the info.

I've been using the B&M for about 1 week now and think it's great. It's extremely well made and, unlike the RE, has a built-in machined aluminum pivot cup. As this is the only moving part in the shifter, it's the one major thing aside from length that can be improved on compared to stock. The RE requires you to either reuse the flimsy plastic stock cup or buy a new one from Nissan for extra cost. The other thing I like about the B&M is the perfect 33% throw reduction. Greater reduction than that would make the shift effort too heavy for my liking, and less (the RE is only 20%) would make it difficult to really feel any difference.

The one common complaint about the B&M is rattle at specific RPMs under load. This is a characteristic of the diameter of the pivot cup--it's rather loose in the transmission housing cup so it can rattle as metal-on-metal. I don't know why it's not either larger or cladded with a rattle eliminating polymer. I've spoken with B&M about this and they seemed extremely receptive. Their technicians will be looking at this. As for me, I can barely hear any rattle with all the boots in place--and then, only when the engine+tranny are still cold.
