calm... down, i'm open to intelligent criticisms, just not insults.
as far as common sense goes, redirecting outside air into the intake seems like common sense to me; knowing the ambient temperatures at various heights near ground-level does not.

i have a mod very similar to this but i am using 4 inch AC duct piping and i removed the front box, so the cooler air is hitting the front of the K&N drop in, sorta like a ram air setup.

yea, all the 03-06 airboxes should be the same. and its not affected if u upgrade to the revup airbox (highly recommended). this will give u better airflow

i dont quite understand where you wedged that black piece, you say between the black box and the grille, but it looks like its between that aluminum piece and the foam thats directly in front of the alum. piece...

i also decided to run a screw through the side of where the pipe meets the airbox, this means ill have to take out the fender liner everytime i change air filters but o well, maybe if its too much of a hastle ill take out that screw next time.

painted the 45* black before putting it all back together:

thanks for the idea man! to be honest, i dont expect any gains at all, but the extra source of air sure cant hurt at all. and prices must have gone down, i only paid 10 bucks for those 3 from ace hardware.

a fan will help plenty.....it def. doesn't recreate driving at 70-80 mph+ but it certainly helps dissapate the hot air from the bay.....there is a reason ALL dyno bays have a huge fan in front of there dynos
