I unfortunately don't have a before sound clip. I do however, have a K&N filter if you're still looking. I'll be updating this DIY again with an additional step to block the large resonator pocket just behind and above the bottom opening, so stay tuned!

yes it would work for a k2, you just have to attach the flashing(funnel) to the lower grille... i used a couple black zip ties and punched a couple holes in the funnel and fastened it to the grille

I have mine like that, when driving my intake temp is about 5-6 degrees over ambient, the same as it was before I took off the resonator. The air in that area is pressurized and kept cool with the flow through the bumper. When stopped it may heat soak though, in stop and go my intake temps jump up a lot. I have also modded my air box by adding a large velocity stack over the stock one , cutting an opening in the box under the stock opening and removing the stock port and added a new seal further back.

Not planning to do that simply because the 1 and a quarter inch pipe fits perfectly snug into the resonator hole. If you use bigger piping you will either have to mod the hole to make it bigger or use an adapter which will result in 1 and a quarter inch anyway..

im interested in doing something like this. ive had a similiar setup but modified my air box to fit a 3" down pipe from a turbo.I had trouble mounting the pipe to the air box i modified due to the weight of the pipe. But ive been running a mazak 5 axis plasma laser at work and have been thinking about making a ram air box all the way across both lower openings on my 03 oem coupe bumper by making perferations in thin sheet metal say about .015" thick and folding the edges to make the angles i need and sealing the perferations with caulk and paint it black. but im worried about hitting puddles in the rain and forcing water onto and through my k&n. mabey the 90 degree bend will prevent such a thing. and i wonder if i should make the whole in the bottom of the air box bigger for better flow? idk but ill find out. ill start drawing it up this monday. ill keep you posted.

add this mod with it as well https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...ir-intake.html both mods together should ensure more cold air to your stock box

waste of time. I did all of that to no avail. THINK the factory has all of the mechanics to test before the mfg... I looked at airbox and found it sufficient but did not like the way the air was routed over the top of radiator...so after drill ing some ten holes in air box and radiator steel support..the result.....nada
