I stop to talk for a bit, and he mentons that he has mufflers only on his car. As I am leaving I notice that his lincence plate translates to A s s handed to you. That got to me. want my advice on the situation... it is possible to add a certain combination of mods to get your car to close to 300whp... if you get about 300whp i think you should have no problem smoking him... and add that with light weight parts (they help but on a G i dont know if it really helps all that much but it might).. I'd get some NISMO 17's if you wanna be all about racing... or some 17" gramlights.. but i'd do these series of mods had i the money and a 6mt

Knietix V+ plenum
Motordyne MREV2 Lower Collector
440RC Injenctors
Walbro 255LP Fuel Pump
HKS Twin Power Ignition
Platinum Iridium 4 Prong Spark Plugs
Stillen Hi-Flow Air Box
HKS Exhaust
Stillen Headers
Technosqaure ECU Reflash

you should have no problem keeping up... there are a couple other things u can do as well

I'm trying to figure out where the fuel sytem need is in all of this for a non FI and non-internals modded NA car, not to mention the ignition system?

[QUOTE=Shogun1122]I was wondering if sub 5 sec times or mid 13's quarter mile were possible with smog leagal(CA) bolt ons. I have an 05 6mt and I am tired of hearing my buddy with a late model mach 1 telling me how he can woop my ***.

I've done 4.80/0-60 by my Passport G-Timer, which might be a low 5 or high 4 second run in the real world...13.8@101mph (probably mid 13"s w/ drag radials) at the strip with hard side wall 275/35/19 Rear Bridgestone S0-3's at 22psi w/very little traction...and before I installed the H2o-Methanol Injection.

So with the right bolt-on's you should have no trouble staying with him...
I've yet to see a Stock 05-06 Mustang GT do mid 13's. At Commerce Drag Strip in the Atlanta area, low to mid 14's is the norm for them!

The Mach 1 basically used an 305hp NA version of the 380hp SC 4.6 DOHC motor used in the 03-04 Cobra. The Mach 1 4.6 DOHC V8 is very similiar to the 4.6 DOHC V8 305hp used in the 96-99/01 Cobra. The differences are the Mach 1 4.6 uses an iron block and better cams. The 305hp in the Mach 1 is underrated because these cars typically put down about 280whp or about 15whp more than the 305hp 96-99/01 Cobras.

The cars are pretty dang quick and an average driver should be able to extract 13.6s@104mph pretty easily. 13.4s@105mph are pretty common. Like someone else said in here, 4.10 or even 4.33 gears really wake these cars up because they're so horribly undergeared (3.27s). With the 3.27s, 1st is goes to about 52mph, 2nd to 80mph, 3rd to 110mph, etc. A set of 4.10 gears and DRs and 12.7-12.9@107mph are attainable by many.

WTF is this guy thinking???

This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about (in another thread)... people who have no idea how to make real power in an NA car (not you ISM, the guy you quoted ).
