Sub 5 Sec 0-60 possible with bolt ons?

I was wondering if sub 5 sec times or mid 13's quarter mile were possible with smog leagal(CA) bolt ons. I have an 05 6mt and I am tired of hearing my buddy with a late model mach 1 telling me how he can woop my ***.

My plans so far are for:

Mrev2 + 5/16 spacer
Z-tube with K&N filter
Cat back exhaust (not sure witch one yet)
grounding wires
Dyno tune

I know that these alone wont get me there but I am hoping that someone who has got there on bolt ons can give me an Idea how to get there.

Many factors are involved. Driver skill, it also depends on how far you are willing to go and how deep your pockets are. Slicks and tire glue on a gutted G35 with full bolt ons and a utec should have no problem smoking ur friend.... want an easier soultion.... Nitrous and a Utec....you'll smoke him.

btw: what did he run the 1/4 mile in, my friend with a Mach 1 ran a 13.1 at best. With a high trap from roll he was pretty fast.

Best I've heard of is low 5 sec 0-60, and high 13 quarter miles without NOS or FI.

I dont think that he has tracked it yet. I am sure that it is stock, so I was just going on the generally accepted times for stock mach 1's. In terms of driver skill it is probably about even.

As of now I am a little hesitant to completly void my warranty, but I have FI planned for the future once I have the money and the warranty is up.

On a good track in good conditions you can run mid to high 13's without too much work. In awesome conditions(25 degrees) I ran a high 13.7@102. At the time I had ztube/k&n, crawford cats, and a 350z midpipe. Had I had drag radials(and launched properly of course), I would have been doing a 13.4 to 13.5.

I don't see why you can't hit low 13's NA with the right combination of mods.

sounds like your friend has an ego problem. Buy a camaro z28 on craigslist for like 3 grand, take him out to the track, smoke him, and then sell the camaro back on craigslist
