better intake

any recommendations on which intake system I should purchase for my g35 sedan. I have used search and narrowed it to stillen high flow air box, or the jwt with z tube. Also how easy is this to install, I am a mechanical fool

extremely easy to install. i did mine in about 25 mins and im a "mechanical fool," too.

i would go stillen high flow air box..but honestly it wont make any difference..

this is a mod that everyone with a g does..its mainly for sound and looks..though if you go with the high flow box its pretty stealth..

do whatever suits you..

ztube w/ p/c is suppose to be the loudest with the stillen hfab not far behind..

just my two cents..

my girlfriends coupe has a z tube and k&n drop in filter and it feels and sounds good to me. I know everyone says you can't feel the difference but i feel that the engine is a little peppy-r in the revs than before. I also took off the power duct for a short time and the intake was alot louder.

Other than sound the stock oem intake is designed to have no more than 1% restriction [ engineers are allowed to reduce power up to 1% prior to MAF to satisfy noise criteria] at max HP rpm.............most try for 1/2 of this 1% max.

Measure the plenum depression [the amount of air pressure restricted by everything prior at WOT] normally you will find ~~0.5 psi [outside barometric 14.7 and inside plenum 14.7 minus 0.5 = 14.2 psi so everything from plenum outward 14.2/14.7=0.9659 or 3.41%...........no throttle body, no hose, no MAF, no air filter box no air filter would increase power by 3.41%.......unfortunately all of these things are needed in some form and all one can do is improve each individual component.
