oil levels/oil change with filter 5 qts

i was just wondering where everyones oil level was at and how many qts did u use?
i just changed mine today with mobil 1 synthetic with 5 qts and filter.
i waited about 30min after the car was off and checked and the oil level was on the H. the manual said it had to be between the L and H. do you think its fine?

5 quarts is what the G takes. I dont even check the level after i change it anymore because i know that with 5 quarts my dipstick is perfectly on the H mark.

I think it's fine since you changed the oil filter too. I had mine done last week, same amount. You could check it again on early morning before you warm up the engine, you would get much better reading than just turn off your engine for 30mins!

I have to use 6.5qts because of the spacer and oil pan I have but after that with a filter it's just below the "H".

Yeah, you should be good. Just make sure you check it every now and then.

IIRC, owner's manual states 5 quarts (or the metric equivalent of 4.78 liters), this is when you change out the filter too...
correct me if i'm wrong...

Well as long as you made sure you emptied the oil completely, you are fine. It's actually good to know what 5qt actually looks like on the dipstick so you know when you are running low.

All cars a bit diff so that's why the manual puts the HUGE variance in there. I mean "inbetween L and H"? hehe. IMHO that's covering your butt a bit too much Infiniti.

how do you guys even get accurated readings?! everytime i try to check my oil, the darn dipstick rubs against the metal around it and messes up my readings..

takes a lot of finesse and patience.. Or..you can get the 07 sedan and have the dipstick right in the middle of the engine
