check engine light after plenum install

Hey all, i have just installed my MD 5/16 spacer.

After doing so i have realized that i am a complete retard and did not disconnect the battery prior to the install.

Now i have the "service engine soon" light lit up on my dash.

I assume it's ok to drive with this light on, yet i want ot know how to 'reset' everything to fix this.

Anyone experience this before?

Any help would be greatly appreciated so i can again.

I got money on your MAF being faulty....

If reseting the ECU doesn't fix it, take it to a dealer. Keep the install work to yourself.

Did you touch the TB butterfly valve at all?
If yes, that could do it. Try the reset procedures.

If possible, also try to find out what the code number is. A local auto shop may be able to help.

What happens if you touch (move) it? What is the reset procedure for the TB valve?

The procedure is outlined in the downloadable installation manual shown on our website.

If you push on the valve, it can off set the calibration.

Stickied in this forum is the quick way to reset you ECU with the Gas-Pedal. Timing is important, but it is better than reprogramming your radio.
