brake fluid COVER kit review

At last! Finally got the prototype from StriclyZ.com

Installation was easy, took me only 10 minutes. Pics are below.

Basically what this mod will do is conceal the right side where the brake cylinder and brake fluid area of the engine bay resides, just like how the battery is concealed on the left side.

The kit includes everything needed for a full installation.
You get the plastic cover, plastic lid, metal bracket, all the grommet covers that you need, and fully detailed step-by-step instructions including pictures. A job well done by StrictlyZ.com!

I could have installed this kit in under 5 minutes, but it was a pain to get 1 corner of the weather stripping back on because there was a 2mm gap between the metal and the plastic, so i had to squeeze them closer together to get the weather stripping back on properly. It was no big deal, just took 5 minutes longer than expected.

These kits will go on sale SOON, meaning either Friday or Monday. So contact Kyle from StrictlyZ.com then.

Price is TBD

Re: brake fluid COVER review

My part was ordered from JapanParts and is (well, it's supposed to be, at least) an unmodified Nissan JDM part so that's why I may have fitment issues. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like the kit from StrictlyZ fits inside the metal divider and does not ride on top of the divider, but I really can't tell from the pictures. Since the part I have rides on top of the metal divider (as does the actual 'Battery' cover on the passenger side) I'm having to modify that divider so it won't rub the underside of the hood.

To any of you guys with the StrictlyZ part:
Could someone post a pic of the cover uninstalled and a pic with the weatherstripping removed from the curved divider?

Like I mentioned earlier, I'll post some pics of the cover I have and what I've done so far, when I get home from work.

JPJ, i dont have my camera handy, but i can tell you that this part fits PERFECTLY, no need to cut anything, it drops in perfectly, no rubbing or cutting, or any hood dent damage.

Re: brake fluid COVER review

i can attest to the no rubbing either.. this is the easiest thing to install hands down.. anybody can do this.. strictlyz has accounted for all possible problems (rubbing, cutting, rattling) and have come up with an awesome and easy-to-install product..

Re: brake fluid COVER review

Well that's cool - I was really hungry for this part when I heard about it and then ordered in November - after it came in I found out that others who had the same kit/parts that I have had to modify the car for it to fit properly. I probably should've waited - I still mucking around with mine and yours was a drop in!

Re: brake fluid COVER review

I see what you mean JPJ. It does look like it fits inside.

The only way for ours to line up is if we cut metal to fit the cover over the metal and not rub or cut the cover itself to fit inside the wall.

I had a long level and got the two sides to line up close as I ground down the metal wall, fabricated a plastic tab for the rear 2 mounting points, drilled the 3rd rear mounting point and once I had it working I drilled for the white plastic mounting tab included.

It is a labor of love for what I did and JPJ is doing, but if this is like it sounds, for those of you who were patient, you have a great solution!!

Re: brake fluid COVER review

Did you post instructions on ImageStation? If so, I believe I used your pics and instructions, but I guess I did not cut enough off the metal divider.

Here's a pic of the pic with the cover installed.

Re: brake fluid COVER review

We all better hope the dealer's techs really know which side the battery is on. I can see it now-"Some one must have stolen your second battery so we had to put one in...the total for your service today is 350 bucks..including labor for putting in the battery and servicing your current one."

Re: brake fluid COVER review

Hi JPJ !

No those were not my instructions but those were the ones I used and it worked well.

Once I get a few more items I need painted I am going to go get the covers that say " Battery" filled and pained to match.

I am now in search of matching color electrical tape for under the hood. Black is darker than what Nissan used.

G35C - 6MT, DG/G, Aero, BSM, Flaps, Stillen Intake, Z tube, Crawford v5, 6 Wire Grounding Kit, Clear Corners, 2nd Battery (Brake) Cover, Sirius, Momo F16 Evo Shifter, 30% 3M Tint & more to go

Re: brake fluid COVER review

I'm the one who posted the instructions on Imagestation.

This new cover looks like it sits beside the raised portion of the divider.
Either way, a nice mod!
