Re: brake fluid COVER review
Got my brake fluid cover in today (3 days!!!). Install went easy, I cut about 1/16" off the front lip with a razor. The cover was sitting on the rubber grommets where the brake line and some wires go through. Mine must sit hifgher than others.
Still looking at the clear corners though. Seems like they don't fit.

Re: brake fluid COVER review
Yea, it will cost your a lilttle but less to buy it from japanparts.com. But to have it installed you have to take it to a bodyshop. Reason is you have to chave to metal off the car.. Well it will take you over the 150 dollar barrier.

Re: brake fluid COVER review
Is there any chance the brake fluid cover helps keep the hvac air cooler by closing off the hot air sucked into the firewall side (behind the compartment that the cover covers)???

Re: brake fluid COVER review
Recently, I ordered the driver's side battery (brake fluid) cover from StrictlyZ. Unfortunately, when my order arrived, it did not come with installation instructions.
After reviewing this thread, I think I've figured out where the various parts go in terms of installation; however, upon closing the hood of the car, I noticed that it's not flush with the frame/body of the car. Fearing damage to the car, I've removed the brake fluid cover.
As I am without official installation instructions, does anyone have a copy that I can refer to in order to properly install the driver’s side battery cover? Any help is appreciated.

Re: brake fluid COVER review
Thank you very much, skaline!
The instructions helped. Attached is an image of the brake fluid cover installed. It took a little elbow grease, but the hood closes flush with the car frame/body now.
Can you confirm that my installation of the rubber/weather stripping is correct? I have it going over the plastic edge rather than the metal edge. If I want it to install over the metal edge, I'll have to make a small cut in the stripping near the A/C tubing where the gap between the metal and plastic edges begins to appear.

Re: brake fluid COVER review
Looks like your cover is sitting just a little bit higher compared to the metal edge. It should actually be lower than the metal edge. Make sure the weather stripping along the top edge of the cover isn't preventing you from seating the cover all the way down. Then the weather stipping should cover BOTH the plastic and metal edges all the way up. You shouldn't have to cut it. Just push it on. It will fit.

Re: brake fluid COVER review
6-5, I kinda doubt the cover does very much to keep the hvac air cooler but there was a post a while back where someone insulated the lines to make the ac colder and to prevent sweating/dripping. ac line mod

Re: brake fluid COVER review
Thank you for the clarification, skaline. Initially, this is what I thought, too; it looks like the cover I received might need some additional customizing. I'm unable to get the weather stripping to cover BOTH the plastic and metal edges all the way up. This is because of a gap that is produced by a spacer next to the plastic edge; it widens near the top. I might have to shave some of the spacer plastic down in order to reduce the gap between the metal and plastic edges.
Appreciate all the help. Great support community here.
