Re: brake fluid COVER review

wow looks great, are there any discounts for this? As much as i want to buy one it is a little hard to shell out close to $90 after shipping for a cover.

Re: brake fluid COVER kit review

Finally got mine in today by UPS. Install went slick with no hangups at all. And I'm glad to say there were no clearance issues, either, as alluded to earlier in the thread.
I really like the way it 'finishes' the engine compartment.-- Cool Mod Yuichi, thanks

Re: brake fluid COVER review

Got mine in yesterday put it in today. I gotta say it looks nice. But for some reason it didnt go in like everyone says. I am not having an easy time putting on the weather strip. Only on someparts i can put it on but on others it it wont fit.

Will post some pictures tonight to explain what i mean.

Re: brake fluid COVER review

Rashman,
I had the same issue, please re-read my first few posts...
Basically you have to push the plastic to the metal and THEN put on the stripping, it would be much easier if you had a 3rd and 4th hand....get a friend or sibling to help you out.
Again, just bring the plastic close to the metal and then put on the stripping, it will go on, trust me!

Re: brake fluid COVER review

ok well the thing is it doesnt go together very well like a puzzle piece. There is still some space even when i do what you said. Belive me i read it and it didnt work. I took you advice and had my brother who is 19 help me out. Still didnt fit perfectly. It fit but not perfectly.

But will try again

Re: brake fluid COVER review

I installed mine this morning and I understand the weather stipping issues you guys are talking about. Take a good close look at the battery cover on the passenger's side, the stock one. On that cover the weather stripping closest to the firewall is in between the metal and the plastic edges. The weather stripping along the front of the cover is over both the plastic and metal edges together. I was having trouble with the weather stripping as well until I checked out the existing cover. I made some adjustments and now it fits perfectly. I will take some pics this afternoon to explain better.

Re: brake fluid COVER review

I just got mine about an hour ago. No real problems with the install, and it looks great! Thanks Yuichi!!!

I managed to get the weather stripping over both the front and the rear, but I know what you're talking about skeleton_cru. Not sure if I like it better between the pieces or over both.

Re: brake fluid COVER review

I shaved the 'Battery' letters off, and I made a 'BRAKE' label for it. This way I won't confuse any Infiniti techs out there!

I was not able to get it over both, it was either one or the other. Since only the front was over both on the other side I just made it a mirror image.

Re: brake fluid COVER review

Hey how did you shave the battery letters off and what did you use to make the label?

Re: brake fluid COVER review

I just used a very sharp single edge razor, and the label is from my Brother Label Maker.

Re: brake fluid COVER review

Several of the staff at the local Infiniti dealership looked at the cover today and expressed quite a bit of interest. Everyone agrees with how it 'completes' the engine bay. Wouldn't be surprised if StrictlyZ got a few orders from the OEM dealerships! Good job guys!

Re: brake fluid COVER review

Installed the cover yesterday and it looks great. Should've come from the factory this way. Thanks StrictlyZ.
