The censorship here isn't stifling. It's done very tastefully and with an obvious maturity level that someone in that post was clearly lacking. Everyone here is allowed to voice there opinion no matter what it is, we all just choose to do it with some class and reserve without resorting to name calling.
Re: is the g too cheap cencored!
I agree the tone was getting a little hostile, but I find it interesting how our feelings about our own vehicles are somewhat tied to what other people do to theirs. If there were a bunch of g's decked out like christmas trees in my neighbourhood I likely would not have been so interested in getting one myself. I would not nesessarily want to be identified with that crowd. (no offence)
It's not surprising that some g drivers have strong feelings about the idea of what a g should look like though. The psychology of why we like and buy cars and how our ego's are wraped up in it all is interesting. We speculate that some people may choose bmw for status. If that is the case are they shallow or foolish because they are willing to pay so much for status? Some would surely say so. (not I)Those of us that chose the g may have used more practical criteria i.e. value. It's obviously not that simple.
Personally I think my car would look better with painted sills. I agree it's nice to be different but there are too many other good things to do with my spare cash than tinker with an already awesome looking car. My priorities may be a reflection of my age and circumstances,38 maried with children. Which brings us back to the original thread. Is the lower price enticing younger buyers with different perceptions of style and class? I am not totally offended by the thought but it's a valid question.

Man, don't you all know that Internet bickering will get you no where. What is the point in keeping a thread going where there is no positive end result? I did not lock that thread, but probably would have if someone didn't sooner. Just drop this topic and post some other stuff. Cool?

It's still a G thang!!
