steering vibration is usually a sign of wheels out of balance. wierd that you only notice it when the A/C is on...

If the vibration in the steering wheel get worse with an increase in speed your tires need balancing. Speed + more vibration = wheel balance bad.

If it vibrates at idle something may be wrong with your power steering. Maybe a loose pulley or broken tensioner since loading the belt by turning on the ac changes things.

I don't understand whats happening, so with AC on there is more vibration; is it the engine that is vibrating, shaking the whole car or is it just the steering wheel ?

gotta feed us some more info.

have you looked under the hood while your car is at idle and the wheel is vibrating?

Very weird, so when parked at idle there is a vibration threw the steering wheel, If so I would look at the power steering system, also check the power steering fluid level.

If at idle it can be ***allot*** of things. Do you have an engine damper. Could be dirty injectors or carbon build up. Put a can of Chevron Tectron 20 Gallon treatment in along with a dry gas. Could be a dirty sensor such as the MAF or faulty or damaged O2 sensor [did you put in an aftermarket exhaust or cats]. Even a dirty gas filter, air filter or plugs could cause it. You may have to have someone diagnose it, but first I would start with a good cleaner.
