Re: UR Pulley worth it??
Exactly, if the belts are on properly, and if pulley is clean, you wil not have any squeaking.

Re: UR Pulley worth it??
i got mine from concept Z performance. excellent price, quick shipping...thanks!
the install was cake. the gains you can feel. my average 0-60 times with the RT cats and the pulley went down 2 tenths of a second (for any that are concerned with that). my belts didn't sqeak on startup, and have been fine for two weeks. i made them pretty tight. i did get one very tiny sqeak on startup the other morning, and i checked them immediately. they felt a tiny bit loose, so i tightened them. this is a great mod, and very easy.
get a 2' breaker bar, put the car in 6th, and have someone stand on the brakes...you will be surprised how easily the bolt comes off.

Re: UR Pulley worth it??
well, though there aren't any problems yet, i've seen and heard what lightened pulleys can do. the problem, as all of you already know, is in the harmonic damper and the balancing of the pulley itself. if these aren't made correctly or if the pulley isn't balanced, then it could shake everything off the block, literally! i've always been reluctant to get this mod because of the risk/gain factor. there just isn't enough gain to justify the risk. that's jus' my $0.02.

Re: UR Pulley worth it??
I just talked with someone at PerformanceNissan and they said that it would work in the AT. You will need a special tool however to take the stock pulley out. I'll try to find out more because I just ordered one for my bud's AT coupe. Anyone know specifically, what this 'special tool' is?

Re: UR Pulley worth it??
you got the correct belts. I'm just wondering if the belt tensioners were tightened adequately or if some grease got on the belts themselves. Both will cause the squeeks.
===
is tightening that belt tensioner difficult? i can move the belts almost an inch either way, so that seems like the cause of my squeak..........just in case, what's the best way to clean belts, warm water? excuse me for these questions, not too mechanically inclined. i'm the "if-it's-on-a-g35 sedan-and-it-works-with-no-problems,i'm-in" type of guy.

Less is more, unless your modding......

Re: UR Pulley worth it??
how much you think it will cost to have the dealer to do the installation? I think I might be better off have the dealer install the pulley. I can simple stuff like exhaust, intake, and plenums, but I don't think I'll be able to do that, don't want to break anything.

Re: UR Pulley worth it??
Does anyone ave the UR pulley (crank only or set) in conjunction with aftermarket stero equipment? Any adverse effects / problems? Someone previously suggested in another post that the underdrive may prevent the alternator from providing enough juice for after market stero compnents. I have 2 amps, and was wondering if this is a mod I should avoid for that reason. Thanks for any help.

Re: UR Pulley worth it??
wow. that's a great question. I will have 2 amps in my system as soon as I have my enclosure built. I never thought about this. I don't know how much smaller the crank pulley is compared to stock but for the sake of argument, lets say the stock system puts out 100 amps at 2000 rpms. If the UR pulley was 20% smaller, I would guess that you would have to rev at 2400 rpms to get 100 amps.
Any thoughts?

Re: UR Pulley worth it??
hey geeman. It is actually a little smaller. There is a comparison pic on my350z. I would guess that it's about 20% smaller.
