Belt dressing is an absolute no-no for accessory rib belts. Accessory belts will squeal when they're slightly loose. No lubrication is needed for these types of belts and adding lubrication completely ruins the grabbing capability of the belt. You're going to have to replace both belts and then you will need to scrub clean ALL the pulleys to remove any dressing residue that remains or the belts will continue to squeal and probably slip under heavy loads.

 

well I used WD40 on the belts today and that made the belt dressing run like water so I wiped it off with a rag. Then I started the car and shut it off. I repeated the process untill the belt no longer squeled and they where no longer sticky. And just to be safe I used dish soupe to clean off the belts of WD40 and rinsed it with cup of water. No squeling anymore. Thanks guys for all the help! Man G35driver rocks!

Yeah Belt dressing is only a tempory fix. I used to be Autozone Manager while I was in college and they sell those stuff. Used it on my Prelude a while back and it went away. But eventually it'll come back. All belt dressing do is provide some friction between your belt and pulley if your belt is slipping. Those stuff are sticky and I really hate using them or even recommend anyone use them. Adjust your pulley or replacing your belt would be a better option. Just thought I give my opinions.

If you use belt dressing, your setting yourself up to replace your belts. The dressing accelerates drying out the belts and will lead to frays, cracks and dryrot. 99% of the time a belt squeaks due to not being tight enough. (this is more evident if there is a lot of moisture in the air). I wouldn't use WD-40 on them either.

Try increasing the tension to stock specs and keep an eye on your belts for any signs of damage.

 

ok I got both of them off but now I have to figure out how to tighten the belts.
