Car won't go past 2200 rpm
It could be water too. There is a large rubber grommet that allows the wires to go through the firewall right smack in the middle of where the water comes off the windshield on the passenger side. There is even a large cutout in the plastic cover allowing the water to drop right on it. If you have had any work where something new was passed through there, check it out. A small amount of water getting through there can really make f*@# up your car. When it dries out - good as new. The rubber grommet actually envelops the plastic retainer. I had some work done and they just dropped the rubber piece on top of the plastic when they were finished. Water got in and the car went funcky chicken on me. No CEL but the car just couldn't get it's head straight enough to make 2 K RPM. Sounds like this could be you too.

^that happened to me aswell but my vdc cel and slip light comes on and stays on so i think it might be my throttle body. im bought to purchase 1 from jason. ive been telling him imma order it but money has been short. hopefully that will fix everything when i install it
So was it the maf sensor I’m now having this problem I did the battery reset but it happened again and the cel light came back on
Hey guys kinda new at this site so sorry if I'm in the wrong spot but today I was driving my G home
then I stopped and got gas. When I was leaven I had to get on the highway
so I was in 2nd and started going but then it seemed like I red lined at about 4.5, 5 grand
it only did it the one time I switched into 3rd and so on and it drove just fine and ideas ?

What diagnostic trouble code was it throwing, usually the computer tells you almost EXACTLY what the problem is. Unless you aren't reading the codes.
Same issue after rain happened in Florida a month or so ago
My car has no splash guard and in the rain it just started to jerk. Fast forward to today after replacing all the cam and crank sensors, I’m getting the whole limp mode with no CEL or any codes. I’ve tried vacuuming out water from ipdm but by the time i did it was dry or it probably never got wet from that day in the rain. My next step is to change the maf or just clean my K&n or just both.
^^
I think your first step is to replace the fiberboard splash shield underneath your vehicle.
Or you could just order a case of parts that you can replace every time it rains

so I will be taking your advice with the splash guard. Following up for future readers, I swapped to a different ecu and it’s still in limp mode so I’m guessing it’s not the ecu. Cleaning my k&n filter and maf. So will testing those tomorrow once the filter is done.
Wondering if my car will shut off after my maf is unplugged while it’s on. That would say that the maf is bad right?

After hearing that engine should turn off once maf is pulled, I tested to see if it does and it stays on but throws a code. So I will be ordering another.
ok thanks for that info. I will just keep looking for the issue. I May just get some oem cam and crank sensors instead of generic ones. This limp mode issue did come after I replaced those with generic ones
