Why don't they just proivide 3/8?
Yeah, for the ATF the hose size is different. I think it's a 5/16" hose, but I'm not 100% certain.

As soon as someone with a 5MT comes around asking for service.

You are right. The PS hose is bigger and a 3/8 Magnefine filter will fit the factory hose. Did the PS flush per your video, piece of cake except the PITA hose removal. Which is why I did not install a Magnefine. I did not want to cut the upper hose on the car without a backup generic hose and I could not get it off easily and ran out of time. Running Mobil 1 ATF. I had been doing reservoir fluid removals with Mobil 1 replacement every oil change, but this is the first complete flush. How did you get the PS reservoir off the clamp?

4 years old (built Nov. 04) and only 13,000 miles! Got it used in January. Just changed/bled the brake fluid, PS, Tranny flush with Magnefine and coolant drain and fill, due to time in service. Had already put Mobil 1 in the differential. Will switch to synthetic engine oil next change. Had heard these engines are not really broken in for 12-15,000 miles.

I think it just pulls straight up... should watch the video, it should be well documented As for removing the hose, these hose removal pliers make it a LOT easier:

They're around $10 off amazon.com

I have a similar pair. Foot Long Needle nose with a rounded tip to grab a small hose. I clamp on and rotate the hose while pulling or pushing. That is how the lower hose was eventually removed. Next year I will install a Magnefine there, or just cut the hose and be done with it!

I recently added a magnefine filterto a G35 AT, the filter size I had to use was the smaller one (5/16") than the power steering one. I think the power steering one was 3/8"

On my 2005 G35 Coupe automatic transmission installation of a 3/8 Magnefine (I had several of this size already) I replaced the entire return line with 3/8 hose as it would not fit the factory hose. The 3/8 hose fit nicely over the radiator and tranny connections using the original spring clamps. I used a couple plastic ties to loosely hold the Magnefine in position. I may now replace the spring clamps with screw clamps for a tighter fit to prevent possible future hose dislocation. Or just get a 5/16 filter and hose. It has not been on that long and I can stick the 3/8 filter on my 95 Explorer power steering hose as it needs a change anyway.

power steeribg fluid

The best fluid for Power Steering woudl be BARDAHL ATF VI. QUOTE=whlion;2705293]I have 04 6MT coupe, and the PSF level is low. I am wondering if I can just add more PSF, or I need to take it to the dealer for PSF flush. I don't wanna void the warranty. Thanks.[/QUOTE]

What warranty exists on a 19 year old vehicle? Just add more power steering fluid. Besides you can never void a warranty by topping up fluids, changing fluids etc with any brand you want as long as the stuff you put in meets the manufacturer specifications.
However, if your PSF is low, you need to check for leaks. Common areas are the steering rack (very expensive) then the pump (less expensive) or the hoses (much cheaper)
Find a good independent repair shop to check out your car as a dealer will just rip you off and tell about several other things they insist you repair which you can ignore as the service writers work on commission.
Good luck.

FYI you can do a power steering fluid change yourself. It only holds about a quart. Get a Turkey Baster. suck out all the fluid you can from the reservoir. Fill it back up. Drive for 10 minutes. Repeat 2 more times and you will have replaced 90% of the power steering fluid. There is no need to pay for a flush. Just get a couple quarts of the correct fluid so you do not run out.
