oil filter
oil filter
I am going to switch to Mobil 1 at my first oil change. Based on oil filter comparisons the Mobil 1 filter is the best. However, the recommended size is M1-108, which is only 2-1/4 inches long. The DIY on oil changes said to use M1-108 or M1-110. Will the M1-110 fit? I believe bigger is better.
Re: oil filter
I went through the same problem. I looked up the specific part number for the G and spoke to some of the service folks over at Grubbs. They recomended staying with the 108 filter as it is the designated model for our cars.
Bigger might not be better. It could affect oil flow and pressure. mho

Re: oil filter
Put in the M1-110 and be done with it... I did... It's not going to affect oil pressure. Give me a break. The ingress and egress opening are the exact same size on the two filters. Those are basically the only things that will affect oil pressure. Especially since we are talking about a system that takes 5 quarts of oil, and the difference in filter size is maybe 1/2 cup.
