Air flow

When you have the climate control at 71*F with the A/C off, what would cause the air to be hot? Given the cabin temperature is 72*F+.

Thanks,
Aaron

Why is there any air-flow if the A/C is off? The fan should be off also. I'm not getting the problem here?!?! If your fan is on, you have a problem - unless you have "defrost" selected. Make sure you have turned that off as well.

There is no air flow when the climate control is OFF. There is air flow when the climate control is ON, without using the air conditioning (button isn't illuminated).

When I have the climate control on (without the A/C) the air coming out of the vents is much more hot than usual. For example, if the cabin temperature is 72*F because the car has been sitting in a garage and then I turn on the climate control to 72*F, strong hot air will come through the vents and not regulate the air to stay at 72*F.

I am asking what part/system controls the air flow temperature? I know there might be several components, but I'm pretty sure my A/C compressor is working correctly because I have chilly air at 60*F only. MY IN CABIN SENSOR IS PLUGGED IN

Another obersvation:

I have the climate control set on 90*F AUTO, pointed only at the feet. It never changes over to the feet and face selection. It will stay 90*F and continually heat the cabin with the same amount of air flow.

I know something is wrong with my HVAC system.

You did say your A/C was "Off"... Your climate control should be the same as mine... You can go "Economy" (A/C off) or A/C, either way, the temperature controls should work - unless, there is warmer air outside - then, since you have A/C off, you will get air that is unadjusted and may be hotter than the inside air. Heating will work with A/C off. If you are heating, the cabin sensors will direct the heat down until the bottom half of the car is heated to the selected temperature. Only then will it switch to the upper vents. You'll have a tough time getting air up top if you set the temp to 90. The fan speed will only change if the sensors detect that you have actually reached the desired temperature. I am still not convinced that you have an issue...

The air isn't ice cold at 65*F with the A/C on. You can have the climate control on without the A/C on. Just because the A/C isn't on doesn't mean the air coming out has to be hot.

I'll be SWEATY after 15 minutes having the control at AUTO 75*F.

Refer to my other thread here:

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cou...s-hot-air.html

What I want to know is why the air at 71*F feels like it's 85*F when the cabin clearly doesn't need to be heated to maintain 71*F.

You are being very confusing but what it looks like to me is that you are asking why your A/C is blowing hot air when you have the A/C set to be blowing at 71*.

There are two ways to recieve air into the car. The buttons are directly next to eachother. One has an arrow coming from the outside of the car in. The other is an arrow circulating within the car. It should be on the latter. I don't know why its like this, but try that. I had the same problem.

Also the fresh air passes over warm hood and into warm cowl intake and is heated by passing thru the fan [hot electric motor]. It is not unusal for vent temperature to be 6-10F warmer than ambient outside. The other problems are associate with radio temperature being measured in grassy shade [by spec] and heated asphalt and the hot exhaust from vehicles in front......................even at 60 mph a 10F difference is normal.

Sorry if I am being confusing, this problem is still confusing me too.

Go out to your G and after it's at normal operating temperature press AUTO, but turn the A/C off. It will still say AUTO with the A/C off. Set the climate control temperature to 72*F. Is the air coming out of the vents cool? It should be when the outside and cabin temperatures are around 72*F.

When I follow the above at 72*F, the air coming from the vents is HOT (WITHOUT THE A/C ON). Regaurdless of the temperature outside or inside the car.

Also, I'll have it on AUTO 90*F pointed at the feet for 2 hours and it will never change to the face vents. Problem? I think so...
