I also may want to boost it somewhere down the line. I remember when the Z came out (and maybe two years into it) any type of boosting really required you to reinforce the bottom end whether you planned on making a lot of power or not. APS's TT kit was the only real bolt on kit on the market at the time and that only made about 330-350rwhp at best. I know there's a lot more out there now, and I may not even do all that, but I guess I want to know what I'm in for if I go with an 05+
the rev-up does have stronger rod bolts and oil pump... so for higher reving (bumping the rev limiter) or going boost it could be a better choice... If/when I move to another VQ it will be the HR.

If you are choosing between 2 used cars DE rev-up vs non rev-up, I'd go with which ever one is a better deal (based on miles, condition and price)... other factors aren’t enough to chose one over the other.

HR wasn’t a part of the original question - but if you throw that into the mix, I'd get HR (that’s a whole other topic).

I'd check for oil consumption issues before buying the rev-up -- well either for that matter but it seems to be mainly affecting rev-ups. My non rev-up doesn't burn a lick of oil.

Before I buy, I'll check all of that out. I doubt it'd be much of an issue that I could really check. Oil burning isn't normally a quick inspection thing. I'm not terribly concerned about it though. What I end up wanting to spend is really going to determine what I'll settle for. If I get an 06/07 with 20k miles, it better be problem free for the most part. If I get an 03/04 w/ 50-70k miles, then I'll expect to have to go over a few things. Even if I didn't have to, I probably would at that mileage just because I don't want to have to baby a car. Not that I wanna beat the snot out of it, but I use my vehicles.

Does the revup motor have a higher redline? If so, then it should theoretically have higher top end horsepower:

Horsepower = RPM * Torque/5252
