mrev 2 problems????

mrev 2 problems????

i just put it on yesterday, and now i noticed the car idles very rough when im just sitting there idles jumps from 750 to 500 then up to 800 its not stable im getting its getting more air now but im not sure so anyone can ya help me out????

vac leak bro. find the leak and go from there.

yea i looked for any hoses that wherent hooked up but i can find ****!!

You have a leak somewhere, did you torque the manifold bolts in the right order?? (60in-Lb's-> then 80in-Lb's-> than 100in-Lb's)

Also check your manifold gasket and make sure it is not kinked or bent.

let me ask you what if i turned the gasket to like upside down and theres a piece sicking out i see part of the gasket its like a lip , i just checked it could that be the problem?

take it apart and put it back together carefully, that's probably it.

check around the oil filler cap...

People always overlook the rubber cup around the oil cap that gets caught
when putting back on the upper plenum

^+10000 on that I remember when I did that and my car sounded like a plastic bag caught against a fan. Also if you have a spray bottle you can mist the plenum to see where the leak is comming from.

I have used starter fluid to find vac leaks. Spray VERY short bursts around the plenum. If the idle goes up, you have found your leak.

I usually use carb cleaner because it evaporates and doesn't leave a mess.

SF is nothing but either with a tiny bit of oil.
