Vdc off, slip and service engine soon lights come on
Hello Everybody,
For a while my car has had a little problem staring. It hesitates at start up, but it starts.
Today I was driving and the vdc off, slip and service engine soon light came on simultaneously. The car went into a pilot mode, it did not accelerate, it just rolled really slowly. Autozone hooked up this gadget to the obdII and came up with code P2135.
Has anyone else experienced this promlem? What could it be?
My car is a 2004 Infiniti G35x with 62000 miles.

What's the code? If you haven't, do a quick search and find out what it is so that you know what's wrong. I'm guessing a sensor went out...that really sucks. I had a similar problem after leaving my car outside in cold weather (my car is always garaged) and my car was in limp mode, but after driving it for a minute or so, I turned it off and back on and the problem mysteriously went away.
Check what the code is saying is wrong, that's your first step and then take it from there. GL!

Just had the same problem on Saturday and the dealership said it was the Throttle Postion Sensor, but they replaced the whole throttle body to remedy it. They said it is so common that when I said VDC Off, Slip and TCS light they knew it was the TPS and then confirmed it when they pulled the error code.

I just came back from the dealer. They replaced the throttle chamber. The dealership told me I need to replace the MAF sensor as well. However that is not covered by the powertrain warranty. I told them not to replace it and the car runs fine. The throttle chamber was covered by the powertrain warranty. They wanted 435$ for the MAF sensor. I can replace that myself if i get a "service engine soon" light. The car runs like a champion now.
I want to thank all of you for your help!!!DOMO

Before you replace the throttle body, (especially if you are out of warranty, I was at 85000 miles) you might want to have the throttle body cleaned. Lot cheaper. ($116.00)
I just had the same exact thing happen to me with a P2135 code. Had my local mechanic clean the throttle body. When he was done the car was idling too fast and I actullay got a P0507 code (Idle speed greater than 200 RPM over the set point). After he cleared that code, I went through the recalibration procedure to reset the throttle and accelerator pedal positions and reset the Idle Air Volume. You can find links to the procedures elsewhere on the forum, just study the procedure before hand and do each step as explained.
Worked like a champ and so far so good.
