Ebay poly motor mounts...thoughts?

Never heard of revshift before and search showed nothing on them. Mine are shot, so what do you guys think? Should I try them out?

It's not very complex to make a poly mount, I'm more worried about vibration. I don't mind if the steering wheel vibrates a bit but I don't want the whole car to fall apart either.

From a friends personal experience, he found polyurethane mounts to transfer engine vibrations throughout the car. He said he would never recommend them. Whats wrong with the ones you have now?

Why do you think your mounts are shot?

The engine rocks so bad that the drivers side cat hits the floor. I put the engine brace sold on ebay ( stillen look a like ) and the cat does hit anymore but the engine feels very sloppy. My car has 90K miles so I wouldn't be surprised if they are shot.

I have a friend who has recently tried to purchase from them and is having a lot of issues. I would stay clear of this company.

They claimed to have them in stock for his GTO back on 3/6 and are still giving him the run-around.

I also see they make a Kinetix SSV style manifold with some pretty unrealistic claims:

http://www.revshift.com/intake.htm
In naturally aspirated applications Revshift intake manifolds are capable of producing as much as 10 psi positive pressure at the intake valve.

In naturally aspirated applications a 5% to 10% power increase is typical, in forced induction applications a 15% to 20% power increase is typical.

WOW that looks horrible also! Looks like it was produced in a HS sheet metal class

I strongly suggest you inspect the mounts to make sure they're not torn (engine mounts and tranny mount). These mounts don't wear out. They tear and I've never heard of annoying tearing one, except for a tranny mount. You say the cat hits the chassis, how's that possible? The cats have mounts that attach them to the tranny. Has your exhaust been damaged in such a way that it's bent the cat?

Worn or torn means I have to change them anyways correct? The cats are bolted to the tranny, and the tranny to the engine. When I accelerate the drivers side on the engine moves upward an odd amount. This causes the entire engine/tranny/cats assembly to move ( or rather twist ) and hit the chassis. I might just have one bad but I might as well change both if that's the case.

EDIT: wow...Riverside has them for $150 each...yikes...I thought they were cheaper. I guess it's time to inspect..lol.

Megan Racing also makes a engine/tranny mount kit. That brand name gets a lot of crap but from what I have been able to read so far their mount kit is very good.

Ordered a set of revshift "soft" poly engine mounts. I'm in no rush to install them but I'll provide updates on vibrations.
