Can someone explain this? I've seen quite a few G's with UR crank pulleys, and I'm not too familiar with them.

What is a "UR" crank pulley? Is it the same unorthodox crank pulley?

Is there a significant difference?

I'm still learning.

 

They're one in the same. The UR means Unorthodox Racing, which is the company that manufactures the pulleys.

 

they sell the crank pulley and the accessory pulleys... the crank pulley is supposed to be where you get the most gains because its lighter and different diameter than stock... larger i think...

I have the UR pulley.. it is much lighter (4-5lbs?) then the stock pulley.. it is also smaller in diameter.. basically ur cutting your accessory power by 20% i believe in exchange for faster revs. It is a real good mod.. makes the car much more responsive and feels lighter..

 

It's actually smaller/lighter. Hence the name "Underdrive" pulley. The accessory pulleys are the same size but lighter (mostly for show). I actually had a set for my 350z but I couldn't get the bolt loose (5AT) and sold them... I hear they are good for about 8 rwhp but some have reservations over the "harmonic balance/damper" issue bla bla bla

 

I have a set of ASP pulleys. crank and 2 acessory pulleys if anyone wants to buy em for cheap.

It's a great mod for the price. The RPMs certainly come up quicker and you can feel the power gained from reducing parasitic loss.

Well if you get the main crank pulley where almost 100% of the gains and the weight loss is found, I dont think that messes with your lights and AC.. If you get the complete set with the AC pump and water then it will.

Undersizing he main pulley will 100% affect them.
