Could it smell like oil burning off the engine? Check the plastic tray under engine the engine for oil. My car was leaking oil because of a bad gasket on the dipstick and I smelled burning oil when I stopped.

i have a 04 G35x..and yeah during winter i noticed the smell too..i belived it was from my brakes/tires..because of driving the snow on the mudguards would heat up the tires and it'd stink it up..or perhaps the brakes would get too hot because of the VDC..either way its only whne it snows. and yeah it comes thru the heat it stinks up the whole cabin hehe. nothing to worry about i guess sine its common. i drive automatic btw and no oil leaks.

The white smoke and sweet aroma makes it sound like coolant is leaking out somewhere.

The sweet smoke is likely a bad valve cover gasket, its leaking oil somewhere, and its burning it, likely on the headers. Get a flashlight and look for oil on the firewall and stains on the headers.

^Really? Burning oil doesn't really smell sweet. Well not sweet and delicious as coolant at least.
