Not sure what you are referring to. O-ring on Stillen box?
I bought mine mid 2003 and don't remember a metal O-ring.
There was a rubber ring between the MAF tube and the back
of the Stillen box.

If you mean the large "venturi ring" or 'velocity stack' made of aluminum. Bolts to MAS and the filter clamps on to it. It helps to smooth out air flow coming in. It acctually makes a good difference to have it. It is a good design.

If you are talking about the "venturi ring", yeah, I had a bit of a
problem. Finally I decided that Stillen didn't make the holes
big enough, so I drilled them out a tad larger. No problem
since. I have removed the HFAB to clean the filter once. No
problems putting it all back togeather again.

I don't remember any O-ring on the stock air box! Where is it
located. Now I'm worried. What are you supposed to do with
it?

Re: Put on stillen airbox today
Keep the rivited o-ring on your stock airbox. It is not needed to set-up the Stillen box. The instructions are a little confusing. After I drilled out the 4 rivets I realized I did not need it.
What they are referring to is the billet ring included with the kit. Just attach the MAF, New Stillen Box and the Billet Ring included with the kit together. That is the way it is supposed to fit together.
If you are also putting on the Z-tube the large vacuum line is now on the bottom of the intake tube. Do not worry about the hose not fitting. It does, just do not forget to attach it.
The other trick I figured out the hard way was the bottom bolt in the new box. Peel back your wheel well liner on that side and you will be able to reach that bolt really easy. Much better than trying to do it blind reaching around the filter.
I would suggest resetting the ECU after you are done with it. It will help to relearn what the car has on it.
Enjoy and do not freak out if you hear a whistle sound around 3-4k rpms. That is the sound the intake makes.
Hope all that helps,
Terry

Re: Put on stillen airbox today
yea i managed to use the o ring that came with the old box on the stillen high flow airbox. I have it so the airbox maf connects to the new airbox that connects to the o ring that connects to the filter. I probably should just take out the old o ring but thats the idea that I got from the directions.
