How to replace an OEM ECU for my 03? HELP!

The dealer said I have a bad ECU. SES lights won't turn off.
I was wondering what the steps are on replacing an ECU?
Which ECU will work for my 2003 G35 Coupe?
Do I need to get my keys re-programmed?

Thanks in advance

You can source another ecu possibly. Get the appropiate 6mt or auto version. But you'll need to have the keys and fobs reprogrammed by the dealer as well as getting the ecu tied to your particular car.

Can I use a 2004 ECU on my 2003?
Same body style and both are auto.

You're going to have to verify ecu part numbers with the dealer before purchasing. ESPECIALLY if you are a sedan.

I just removed my ECU, it's more of a pain than I thought.

Do I need the exact part number?

YES! The 2003 Sedan had two different versions of ECU. The earlier one had completely different connectors. You have to be very careful here, or you won't be able to make your car run without a full re-wire of the harness.

My car is a 03 Coupe.
Does that matter?

VERY NICE!
Can someone verify this before I buy an ECU?
Has anyone ever done this before?

Thanks so much.

You really should be asking the dealer.

Trust me. Coupe got the newer ECU in 03. Its the same ECU for sedan and coupe in 2004. In fact, it will be the same ECU for any 5AT from 2004-2006. Wiring harness might be a little different for the TCU (tranny) in 2004.5 models since the TCU is inside the trans.

Call Tony @ riverside infiniti and he can verify this for you
