Maybe its just me but I would not trust a $4 or $5 filter on a car that cost $40,000

have you seen this video? nice hole in it...

We have seen this video, have no way to validate it at all. We believe it was posted by someone who damaged the filter. The whole video is fishy to say the least, did the video maker somehow "know" the filter would be defective? He certainly didnt file any claims with FRAM. A product defect like this would have a tough time getting past the optical media inspection station. The unfortunate fact of life is anyone can post whatever they like on youtube without and substantian of truth.

We also make other filters that are great for a 40k or even more expensive vehicle. The XG filter costs 8-12 bucks depending on where you buy it. It has two ply full synthetic media wrapped around a stainless steel screen, metal end caps, the highest capacity in the industry, silicone antidrain back valves, rated for 10k oil changes when used with sythetic oil. It is the very best oil filter on the market, yet all we ever see on the net is people comparing our least expensive filter to other companies premium filters.

I drive a 2004 CTS-V with a single turbo. (sorry Nissan guys). I have used nothing but FRAM XG filters and mobil1 since new. I change oil when the monitor goes off, usually around 9300 miles between changes. the car has better compression adn leakdown today than it did when new. the inside of the engine is spotless.

Our base model is 94% efficient in the ISO4548-12 test, many with steel end caps in this "study" are in the 40-60% range. I guess it is ok to let dirt in the oil as long as you have a steel end cap!

K&N is a quality filter. IMHO too expensive for what you get (brand name) but they picked a good company to do their OEM for them
