guys is anyone else having this problem? for the last month or so i hae been hearing this ticking sound coming from my right rear brake/wheel. it happens whenever i drive the car, put it into gear, start to go, or go over a bump. let me know. its not a squeaking sound, thats for sure. thanks

where are my GTC's this time? well the fronts are here but where the hell are the rears? o i almost forgot. they forgot to ship them. this is really pissing me off now.

 

SFLG35, yeah I am having it too, thought it was a nail or rock in my right rear....bugging the hell out of me....checked the tire by taking it off the car, inspecting, no rock or nail. I am actually bringing the car in for that reason tomorrow 10/7/04. They said they are having problems with the cv joint? There are clips on the boot that have been clicking...
I'll let you know if they fix it, and if they charge

 

Might be either your brake pad on that wheel has worn out and the safty clicker is telling you to replace it or it could be the dust shield nees to be adjusted. I know when I put new wheels on my car I was getting a clicking noise and it turned out it was just the dust sheild, just had to poke it with a screwdriver and now the sound is gone

SFL, it's your back axles. Needs to be re-lubed and tightened down...guarantee...there's a TSB on this that your dealer will know about.

yea its a known issue...i had it..they took my axle off..repacked smtn with grease..and retorqued

 

haha yep i agree.. axel needs to be retorqued

 

i have it also but, don't know when i'll take the car in to have it looked at. maybe next week.

 

thanks guys. i thought it might be an issue. have to conact my dealer bout this one. shouldnt be a problems though.

yes i had the same problem ...the rear axel just need to be re-lubed

 

are you guys gettin them replaced or just re lubed? if its just relubed wont this keep on happening until the warranty runs out? then what are we supposed to do? pay for it? i dont think i will want to be payin for it. if its a know problem and it keeps happening.

So are the axles not adequately lubed during the initial assembly of the car or is the grease leaking out?

this same thing happen on my Tahoe...the factory tends to be lean on lube most of the time and the axles weren't torqued properly...you won't have this problem once the dealer gets a hold of it.

I HAD THAT PROBLEM ON MY SEDAN ON THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE. I HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR AT THE DEALER. IT WAS THE AXLE IT HAD TO BE RETORQUED.I PAID NOTHING AT ALL.
