DIY Cam Position Sensor Easy Version
I was correcting you in saying you don't need to remove anything to get to the one under the TB ;-)
I too have heard bad things about the after market sensors from multiple people. I think I would go with an OEM sensor just to be safe as you suggested.
There is plenty of room behind the motor and sensor to fit my arm(6'2" 160lbs) without any issues. Press down on the green sensor. You can follow the wiring harness down to it. Only thing, if any, to remove is the bracket on the opposite side of the plenum from the TB to make more room to reach the sensor.
I am replying from my phone but I can post a pic tomorrow if need be

thank you, thank you, thank you. excellent resource
critique on the instructions after directly following them: Everything is spot on but removing the sensor from the acutal harness. Pushing down on that tab will do nothing, you have push the sensor from the base and the tab will unlatch itself. Not sure if that's what you were trying to say....

Did changing out the sensor fix your problem?

Should've bought these.
just push it from the back base, ignore the green tab

pass side sensor is straight and drivers side is bent. I would suggest buying it from Nissan. Like I said I bought one from a parts store for $60 and it lasted about 2 days.
