Re: Best Intake

You are right it was a scape goat. =o)

In this case I will probably get the exhaust first and wait on the intake then since I haven't found or been directed to any real results on a powerful intake.

The K&N is a wet filter. I haven't heard of anyone fouling their MAF sensor with one yet, though it is possible. I've been running one for the last year and have had no problems. When you clean it just make sure that you don't over oil it. I recommend it.

If you are really worried about it though Nismo makes a dry performance filter along with a wet one. The dry filter would be the very safest choice, but they are kind of expensive, around $65 and I believe they are single use and I don't know how many miles you can get out of them between replacement.

Curious to know if putting too much oil on the K&N (or any other "wet" filter) will damage / harm the MAF sensor?

If you over oil the filter there is the very real risk of the oil being drawn through the filter, atomizing and coating the MAF sensor causing to give false readings. That's why it's very important to only very lightly coat the filter after cleaning.
