So I just bought a pair of valve covers WITH the gasket from ebay for $75. I hope they fit my '04 g35. The seller said they are for V35QE engine and said should be compatible with my car.

How difficult is the DIY for replacing the covers + gasket? How many hours will it take?

If I get them replaced at a shop.. what kind of labor charges should I expect? A ball park amount? So when I take the part, I dont get ripped off. lol

Driver's side is leaking - had a LOT of oil in # 4 & 6 and a little bit of oil in # 2 plug. Also the outside of the cover is wet
Passenger side is bone dry and the plug wells were also dry

Post the link from the sale and I'll take a look at the ebay listing. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time remembering how long it took but my valve cover gasket on the passenger side is leaking. WHen I handle that this weekend I'll post how long things take

This is what I bought and waiting for it to arrive. Only Driver's side cover is leaking, should I replace that alone or both?

Also how much do think the labor cost would be if I take it to a shop? I just want to go prepared so I don't get ripped off

LOL, it's a Nissan Maxima valvecover. You can get them for dirt cheap.

It should fit, but I was looking at some pics and the bolt pattern looks different on the TOP. What bolts onto the top cover? The plastic engine cover?

Let us know if it works out.

That looks like a g35 valve cover. So it will fit.

And why didn't the OP post any pics of the $60 seals?

No, I mistakenly assumed it was a Maxima cover because of the price he paid for it.

The Maxima cover has a different bolt pattern on top of the cover. Anyone knows what the top bolt pattern is for? Is it for the Plastic Engine cover?

So how much should I expect the shop to charge me to replace the driver's side valve cover? Any estimates?

I need it replaced but don't have the time or the tools (since the torque values need to match the FSM)
and plus its freaking cold outside
