Question G35 with NEW engine, does car value go up?

Curious what happens here. My car has a new engine, warrantied brand new.

Does that increase the value of my car? Its a 2007, I actually have somewhat high mileage on my car at 98k, but now with the new engine I'm only at 4k on that.

And my car still looks like it costs 35k, bright shining, dare I say immaculate. What would the value of it be private value?

Value is subjective and only worth what your buyer believes it is worth. Is the engine truly a brand new complete engine or just a short block. How do I know it was installed properly and every bolt was torqued down to spec. Do you expect me to believe that with a 98k miles body and only 4k miles on the engine that the other common issues like compression rods, grinding tranny, feathering, ac/radio controls, window motors and other minor issues will not occur with your car. I would have to see the paper work on the motor to see what you mean by brand new. Is it factory fresh long block installed by someone with lots of experience and can run a compression test to check for health of motor. Your value will actually go up or down depending if I think the previous owner maintained it so poorly that it needed a new engine and imagine the rest of the car. I might give you extra if I see it is a long block from infiniti with a 12k miles warranty and installed to spec.

^+2. My motor went at 180k and I bought a full motor with 30K on it. I had an unfortunate rod knock. My car is an '06. My uncle did all the work with over 30+ years experience, but did my cars value go up probably not, but you can pitch selling points to a private party sale where you can maybe get more for it. On a trade definitely will get less. So I enjoy my new motor for what it is, have all bolt ons, and have changed about every part on my car, and had resprays so my car looks great. When it comes to sell I'm expecting crap therefore it will be back to stock and take what I can. I'm lucky I spent close to nothing for labor.

it would jus make the car a bit easier to sell. who wants a car with 98k mile ? lol but as a buyer whos not familiar with oc id be a bit hessitant to buy a car with a new engine becus first thought that comes to mind is this guy probably beat the crap out of the car even tho he may not have thats why he needed a new motor. so it jus depends.

my question is how do u guys value the car on kbb? at 98k miles or 4k miles?

98k miles doesn't mean anything as much as your age doesn't mean anything.

it's all in how it was taken care of.

people have this 100k mile problem from ages ago, that a car up that high is bad. but not today. could definitely bring this car up to 200k miles, especially since it has new motor.

i have all documentation on everything, and i can explain all the issues. i guess basically the answer is that its a feature, but won't change the value all that much. thanks!

If anything I'd say that the value goes down. Most people are wary of cars that have had any kind of work done..

I don't know why a new motor would throw you off? Are you guys even on a G35 board? lmao.

A lot of G35 6MT cars have oil problems, its better if it has a newer engine, cuz its less likely to have oil problems. Why wouldn't you want a factory, legitimate, brand new engine?? Absurd to not.

The vast majority of people are not members of the forum and know nothing about the OC issues or how common it is to have a warranty replacement

So does that mean I lose the ability in telling someone this?

"Hey new engine, this is how all 6mt g35s are, research it if you don't believe me."

Considering it's the MARKET for G35s to have this issue, it would definitely not bring its value down. It's like any recall, a car isn't going to lose value because a faulty part got replaced by a better one, issued by the very manufacturer of the car.

Research and find out that even with a factory fresh build it will consume oil. Then I will research and realize the common issues with the vehicle that will cost me $$$ along with the motor that could need another replacement. Now you just scared your buyer away from a G35 by digging deep and realize how expensive the car can become. Again did you get a short block or long block. Do you realize how tricky it is to install a shortblock with lining up the timing components and torquing down head bolts and every other bolt to spec. I have seem many warranty installs on the G35 rev-up due to oil consumption and it was poor install. The technician gets paid either way and you the customer is happy since you believe it is a new motor and will cure all. I hate to see a motor ripped into hundred pieces and put back together and expect me to believe all is perfect like factory.
