Would this code cause hard starting/hestitation when the engine is cold? My car has been taking a little longer to fire up when cold, but starts fine when the engine is warm. I have the P0455 code and my battery is good.

I wouldn't think so, but I'm not qualified to make anything other than a guess. 0455 is emissions only, I believe.

Edit: gas cap could though... you'd have the possibility of having a vacuum leak. Gas cap not tightened will throw a 0455.

Just wondering how many miles were one everyones cars who are having this problem, mine has 145,000 miles and my emission code recently triggered a service engine light as well, very annoying to look at but doesn't effect performance.

I had about 125k on the clock, if I recall.

P0455 code after installing new throttle body

I have been through hell with this car in the past couple of months. A little over a year ago I ended up getting the camshaft position sensor changed because my car would die while I was driving it and the VDC and Slip lights would come on (as well as the SES light). Everything was fine until a month or so ago, when it started doing it again. Since then, I have had the following fixed/replaced:

Knock sensor (crankshaft?)
Crankshaft position sensor.
New throttle body.

After the knock and crankshaft sensors were fixed, my car no longer stalled or caused any other problems, but my SES light did come back on. AutoZone said that there was a problem with the throttle body (P0507 error code). I changed the throttle body myself. Now I admit that I'm not exactly knowledgeable about cars, but the throttle body wasn't too difficult. The car was running fine for 2 days without the SES light on, but today the light came back on after driving about 20 miles. The new code I am getting is a P0455 code: EVAP control system gross leak detected.

When I changed the throttle body, I did perform all of the idle relearn procedures as recommended. I have not changed the gas cap, yet, as I figure the problem probably lies with something related to the throttle body I changed on my own.

My car is a 2004 G35 Sedan. If anyone has any suggestions or tips to try first, I would appreciate it.

I got the evap code with about 90k miles on mine. Finally had the evap cannister replaced since nothing was showing itself as the cause. Now instead of large evap leak, i have a small evap leak, lol.

My 03 G sedan with 130,500 miles threw a P0455 code last week. Mine happened when I switched on my AC on my commute to work. I reset the code and so far it hasn't come back yet. Hopefully it was just the gas cap that need tightening.
