PO340 Code

Hello,

This is my first post. The reason i started a new thread is because i found many threads with similar but different symptoms as well as a lot of threads where people did not follow up on their solution.

Thank you for taking your time to read and help.

Here's the background info:

I have a 2005 G35 Sedan Automatic. Bought it ~ 9 months ago with 80K and good/consistent service records. No problems until about a month ago, while on highway it felt like a flat tire, as if i was breaking and gassing at the same time.. (loss of power). Today again while on highway (~75mph) the car felt like it downshifted (stalled for a fraction of a second almost) and then a moment later it was fine. After i got to destination, car was off ~ 10 minutes. I started up and 3 error lights came on. Service Engine, Slip, & VDC off. It was slow to start. after a short drive, i parked the car, this time for ~ 30 minutes. I checked all fluid levels & everything seemed to be A-ok. I did the oil change myself ~ 3000 miles back, full synth. it looked dirty, but not too bad. I started car with no problems however only Service Engine soon error light was on. As i got back on the highway, it did the same thing ~ 10 minutes into the trip, except this time error lights (Slip & VDC off) came on. I drove on to work. my coworker had a very basic code reader with only "Read" & "Erase" buttons. So, we got 2 codes, both appeared to be P0340. and then we erased it. I took back roads home and stayed below 45mph hoping not to set off the error codes. I got home and plan on replacing the two sensors tomorrow. Any feedback would be much appreciated as in; has anyone fixed the problem this way (changing sensors) and it never came back? Naturally i will upload the followup.

Thank you all

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Replace your camshaft sensors and all will be well. It's a well-known issue with our cars: https://g35driver.com/forums/tags/p0340.html

Hi guys,

Just wanted to do a follow up on my post. My parts finally came in today. I ordered them from http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/Item...975-109756.htm

I followed the instructions from Silver Tiburon @ https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cou...y-version.html

It took me about an hour and a half to get everything done. I actually pulled both sensors out while they were attached to the connectors, and it was easier to remove them afterwards. Passenger side connector gave me a little trouble. I had to use the Flathead to pry it away from the sensor after a little wiggling around. I reset ECU as per instructions and so far no more symptoms. It's only been a day so i keep my fingers crossed. I also noticed that car was idleing a little higher @ around 12-1300rpms but otherwise all seemed normal. Will keep update if there are changes.

Thank you for all the help

P0345 code

I have an '06 g35x with 152k on it. I had the same exact symptoms as Giolla except my two identical codes were a little different P0345 camshaft position sensor A circuit. Has anyone experienced that or know if it's the same fix or what the fix is for this?

2007 G35 Coupe 6MT - Ivory Pearl
@EZChase I am working on clearing the same code. Popped my cam sensor out on the driver side and discovered a $16 ebay sensor from PO. Going to pull the other side out today and parts come in tomorrow. Did you fix your issue? I was wondering the same thing as I got the p0345 and it mentioned the sensor A circuit and not bank 1,2 or sensor a,b - so just curious before I start tomorrow. Thanks!

This picture will help. Definitely don't recommend any sensors except for Hitachi or Genuine Nissan OEM. These engines are notorious for not liking any aftermarket sensors, Hitachi was the OEM supplier.

Ignore the exhaust cam sensors if you don't have the rev-up engine.
