How to clean throttle body (no relearn procedure) ???
I'm 99% sure I need to clean mine. Car runs fine but dies at start up occasionally. I have 114k miles now.
I know how to physically remove and clean it but I'm concerned about the relear procedure etc..I don't have time for any surprises, or problems.
I thought I saw somewhere that you can remove the positive battery cable before you start then disconnect the wiring clean away reinstall the TB, reconnect the wiring and then the positive battery cable and not have to worry about hanging high idles, or the relearn procedure.
I need to get this done ASAP anyone ?

Did this yesterday, the relearn is not difficult or troublesome AT ALL! Once you bolt the TB back together, just turn your key to ignition for 2 seconds... make sure you hear the butterfly valve open... then remove the key for 10 seconds or more. Done, your car will idle perfectly and your start up problems should vanish. Goodluck!

I disconnected my positive battery terminal disconnected my intake piping sprayed throttle body cleaner inside and wiped away with a microfiber towel. I also used one finger to open the blade and another to wipe around in there and the edges of the blade. Used a lot of spray / cleaner and several microfiber towels until they wiped clean. I did this because my engine would start then stall out and die. I could see a ridge of carbon build up in there that I was able to eliminate. I didn't even remove the throttle body from the car. I put the positive battery cable back on and started it up and the problem is fixed. I got a high idle for a few minutes while the computer was resetting but then the idle was perfect. Now it starts right up and stays running everytime.
Simple fix ... No relearn mess
