I need help with these codes!

Hey everyone, I just joined this site today hoping some of you could help.
I bought a g35 a month ago and it has been giving me problems since. it shot out these codes.
P0031
P1111
P1136
P0037
P0057

I bought a new throttle body, and fuel pump which made the car work for a day then it stopped. it cranks but does not start and when it does start it stays on for 10 seconds if that. I also got a new battery because I had a low battery voltage code and the car had the wrong battery when i bought it. any help would be appreciated, I'm on a tight budget as it is so any tips on doing this would be great.

P0031 - a/f fuel ratio sensor (front o2)
P1111 - intake valve timing solenoid
P1136 - intake valve timing solenoid
P0037 - bank 1 O2 sensor is under voltage.
P0057 - bank 2 O2 sensor is under voltage.

That's a lot if sensors to go out all at once. When was the last oil change? I read the valve timing error can come from dirty oil. The car should still run with o2 errors I believe.

I actually got an oil change yesterday also a tranny flush, coolant/radiator flush, belts replaced, and injection service. But the only reason the car was running was because I had someone delete the codes. When I first bought the car it had 15 codes. Most of them went away after I replaced the throttle body and fuel pump. At this point I'm already annoyed with this car, sometimes it turns on and other times it doesn't. By the way it's a 2003 g35 coupe with 63k miles.

Should I buy new sensors, oreillys is charging 120 and up for each sensor, there are 4 of them and I'm not sure which ones to get if I do need to replace them.

How mechanical are you? If you're tying to save some cash and don't mind getting dirty I'd try troubleshooting it first yourself. I'd get a copy of the FSM which you can find via Google, Haynes manual, or a subscription to AllDataDIY.com. I've done all work on my car since my warranty went out and I had limited auto knowledge beforehand.

I would buy a set of used O2 sensors first, I actually have 4 used OEM that I can sell you for 50 bucks, lol. I bought all four two months ago thinking I had A/F problems as well, but that wasn't my issue. The upstream O2 sensors are called A/F sensors and measure your air to fuel ratio. These are a real PITA to get too though to change, while the rears can be done in 30-60 minutes yourself probably less.

The intake solenoids are also easy to swap out they are on the front of the engine above the timing chain and have an electrical connector going into them. I'd double check those connections first.

But, I don't know I still find it suspect that ALL of those related sensors seem to have failed. Is it possible your ECM could be fried on certain inputs? I'd try to get the FSM and perform the troubleshooting for those items before throwing parts at it. Especially, since it's only got 63K miles on it.

I'm not great with cars usually I have my friends help me out and I was driving it the last 3 days before it died out again, it died on me in the parking lot. One thing I should add is that the fuel pump relay I think that's what it's called was broken so I switched it with my Ac relay and it started, everytime I Unplug it and plug it back in it usually starts then dies. Yeah if I do end up buying them I'll buy them from you lol but how can I tell which ones I need?

I have to agree with UrbanEngineer as well your mileage and problems just doesn't make sense. I have 130K on my '06 and while I've had my fair share of problems nothing like this all at one time.

Are you talking about the fuel pump fuse (small fuse) or the actual relay (large 3/4 prongs)? I would definitely put the AC one back in place and buy a new OEM fuel pump relay first. I don't think your car would be dying like that from the O2 or intake solenoids.

I have my own personal experience with a faulty fuel pump relay on my Volvo. The car had similar experience to you it would start/stop at random. It even shut off on me while I was going 40 down the road! It was pretty scary trying to steer a car that shuts off on you safely into a parking lot.

I jumped the two terminals together and car never had issues again, so that is how I isolated it to the fuel pump relay on that car. Bought a new relay for 40 bucks and that car runs like a champ now. I'd start with that and move on from there.

If your codes are correct you would need both O2 rear sensors, both IVT solenoids, and an A/F sensor. On my car the front A/F sensors were interchangeable, but the rear O2 sensors were not.

I bought the g35 from craigslist, unfortunately for me it was more than i could handle, the guy i bought it from said it was great car and blah blah blah so i test drove it left it on for a while and checked for leaks and checked to see changes in the idle, it showed nothing and there was no check engine light. so i traded my Mazda 6 and some cash for it and the next day it stopped working. everyone was telling me that he probably deleted the codes and put some treatment in it to make it drive and operate how it was for that one day. so i got the bad egg of the batch. so now i am just trying to fix it and trade it in or sell it so i can finance a car so i can build my credit lol

its a relay, it has 4 prongs in a square so they are evenly spaced out, its black and has numbers on it but they are faded and unreadable. some how i cannot find this part anywhere. i went to oriellys they said they didn;t have it, they even checked a book going through 30 pages of fuses and relays in front of me, then i went to nissan they didn;t have any relays that looked like the one i showed them so then i took it to bap imports and they didn;t have anything that resembled it. so finally i called infiniti and they said that they can't sell it separately and they have to sell me the whole module or whatever its called and its $590 plus tax.

do you guys know any online sites where i can get the parts i need, i live in PHX Arizona.
thanks for the advice everyone.

do you guys have any other ideas on what could cause the g35 to turn off while driving or die while in park? i read on a forum that said it could be cam sensors and thats why im almost certain its my sensors but im in no place to be buying parts that i don't need. thats why im looking for help from you guys so i can see what steps i need to take. idk if this helps but in the 3 days that it was working and driving, it had no sign of any problems it drove incredible. i even took it on the freeway hitting 95 no problem. thats how i know that this car can still be a great car. i am just so annoyed with it turning on and off when it wants. and a day before the car worked for 3 days before the codes were deleted, it shot out 2 C codes i don't remember what they were but they didn;t come back when the rest of the codes came back. when i put the car on craigslist stating "it turns on sometimes and dies sometimes" people were telling me that they would give me $4000 because that ecu is probably bad and some people were telling me that maybe the tranny is bad but i drove the car and it shifts fine so i don't know if they were just saying that to low ball me but this g35 is confusing the S*** out of me lol

Go talk to a lawyer. Unless he expressly stated in writing that this is was an as-is trade, you have right to legal action because this car did not meet it's basic purpose promised in the sale.

It could very well be a problem with your ECU or some of the connections to those particular sensors shorted out. I've had an ECU and BCM go out on my car and the car wouldn't even start, so since it runs sometimes for you I can't say if that's your problem or not. There's a used fuse relay box on sale from an 03 on eBay now for 112 bucks:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-03-2003-...248f46&vxp=mtr

I usually buy used parts from eBay, vendors here, Craigslist (rarely), and Nissan dealerships 90% of the time.

You could try find a used ECU for the year of your car, but then I think you'd still need the dealer to program it for you.

Try unplugging the IVT solenoids see if that makes a difference. It could also be your cam sensors as well.

See if you can have the fuel pressure measured as well.

Have you talked to the guy you bought it from?

I looked into that, and everywhere I looked said that since it was a private seller there isn't anything I can do. Lemon laws only apply to dealerships, so I had to take the hit, I just took it as a lesson to be learned. Are we able to upload videos? if so I can record the g35 when I try to start it so you can see what it does. So before actually buying the sensors, what should I do? Can you guys tell me in order like check connections, then the solenoid then etc. Thanks

You can link to YouTube and things like that.

I would first get a copy of the FSM for your car. You can get individual sections here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G35/

It tells you everything you need to know and how to troubleshoot things with your car.

Yeah I talked to him and told him the day after I got it that it stopped working and that I wanted my car back and he said I have to talk to my attorney. That's when I knew he screwed me over. he also said I never had any problems with the car so I wouldn't know where to start. Since then he stopped answering my calls.
