Oil leak G35 coupe

Hi I just recently got a 03 g35 coupe (my first car) and i’ve had to change the oil pan gasket, oil drain plug gasket, and the oil cooler gasket (small o ring) because of a decent amount of oil leaking. With all of those things fixed it’s still leaking a few drops from behind the oil filter and i’m just wondering what could it be? thanks

Inspection mirror and a good flashlight, start at the valve covers and work your way down.

Could be valve covers, upper oil pan gasket or timing cover. Good luck.

I have the same problem with burning oil. I fill 3/4 quart every 400 miles. I don't see any oil leaks on the engine nor a puddle on the ground where I parked. The exhaust smoke and I can smell the oil. I have 322K mileage

Compression and leakdown test will tell you where the oil is going.

I sure would try that. At this time, I will observe how's the leaking behave as I have recently changed the PCV. I will update my post. Thanks.

I'm in early phase research mode. 04 g35 with low 150s. Dealer say (RESEAL UPPER OIL PAN, SUCTION AND RETURN HOSE [ps], BOTH REAR CAM SENSORS LEAKING, 2 FRONT TRANSVERSE LINK BUSHING TORN)
I am starting with upper oil pan gasket research here. Would you do that for this scenario? I am barely a wrench turner so out of my hands on issue 1. Any input on the other issues? Or should I not fix anything?

Please and thank you for any advice. Jamie.

The o rings on the cam sensors aren’t that hard to DIY since you can get to them from the top. Search for a thread on it here. The upper oil pan thing is a difficult one.

Holy cow I am still dealing with this problem, oil leak upper pan. No one will work on it. I had an idea? Call a transmission shop? Ask them to drop the panny and do upper oil pan?

My car is 159k, always dealer serviced. Runs great, even with this problem. Just drops oil on my landlords cememnt. Big problem. Pleae advise.

I should add, no shops I contact will do it, I already got played by another for 900, and m mechanic friend says what they all say, buy a new motor....to replace an oil pan /gasket. Sigh. THank you.

And oil drip tray on the concrete is a cheap "fix". Only costs like $25 at a local auto parts house or Ace Hardware or whatever else you have nearby. That will give you time to get a suitable fix.

The problem with the upper pan/rear main seal is the labor involved with fixing it is basically the same as putting in another engine. And since you're at 150k miles that's why they keep suggesting it to you.

Personally I'd just run a drip pan but I'm lazy like that, I only fix oil leaks if it's bad enough to warrant it, or if I'm actually taking apart other components and it's convenient for me to fix the leak. 3/5 vehicles in my driveway have drip pans under them lol.

1) It's been three years, I'm a renter in a very nice building.

2) Yet another engine is 1700...without labor....LOL why would I do that to fix a leaky oil pan on a perfectly good enginer I have loved on for 20k that runs great? even with no oil or even coolant thanks to one local loser shop?

3) Replacing oil anytime you drive , use the car, etc is not feasbile. Thank you for posting. Jamie.

Everything will seem fine until it’s not. The timing gaskets are getting older / higher mileage, and could let go causing low oil pressure any time.
