rebuild or new motor???

rebuild or new motor???

My 04 sedan has around 165k miles and I want to start adding hp!!!
So what would be better a rebuild or new motor forced induction will most likely happen later on so keep that in mind I will be doing internal upgrades as well cams ect

end goal will be 400-450 whp

you can push 400 hp safely with the DE engine before you have to start upgrading internals.

Best bet is to get a 2nd engine with lower mileage, put on your forced induction. Then when it's ready, take out your old engine and drop in the new one.

i hear what deaf is saying but i think you should just get an LS motor with heads and a cam and drop it in.

really depends on your budget.

Trying to keep this part under 6k I heard ls is really expensive

Your driving around a car with 165k and you can't afford to spend over 6k on a build.

You'll never get that kinda power out of this motor under 10k and that's on the cheap. Buy a different car or get a better job. I'm being totally serious here, your wasting your time....

Must have been some confusion but I meant on the swap or rebuild not end product

If your planning on boost then a new motor makes no sense. Rebuild with upgrades.
