I have had my 05-6mt coupe for about a month now, and noticed the first day that when I lock the doors with the key fob, the lights blink but the horn does not sound. Didn't think to much about it till today, when my neighbor also with an 05 sedan locked her car, I heard the horn chirp? Is this a configuration, or option that my car does not have? I do not have the Premium Pkg.

You should be able to program this option with the remote. I did it on my '03 sedan, but I don't remember the procedure. Check the owner's manual or do a search.

 

Push both the lock and unlock on the key fob at the same time and hold it for about 7 seconds. This will change it. It can be done to get it back to just lights too. Hope this helps.

 

So is there a factory alarm on the G or no? I have a red light buy my clock that flashes and i thought it was for the alarm I just want to make sure.

 

Yes there is a factory alarm on the car. It is usually preset to honk and flash your lights when the alarm is set (and car locked). Like the others are saying, you can change the preset to just flash the lights when the car is locked and the alarm set (goes a long way to keeping your neighbors happy if you are coming back late at night).

awesome!! i wanted to get rid of the ugly horn sound for the longest time..

but now when i unlock it doesn't blink. the parking lights only blink when I arm it. Is there a way to make it so the lights blink when locking and unlocking?
