What’s causing this noise?

Hi everyone,

Was hoping you could assist in identifying what’s causing this humming/vibration noise. I took 2 videos, hoping someone could hear the sound and point me in the right direction. FYI, I think it might be resulting from me removing my old engine splash shield. Almost as if it’s an aerodynamic issue but the sound is also present sometimes when the vehicle is not in motion (video 1). Please let me know if the attached links allow for the videos to be accessed

Damn sounds like a diesel in the first video.

Second video just sounds like a hum. Hard to tell what it is tho.

Pop open the hood and try to listen for it. Does it also do it in neutral? Does it Get faster or louder with engine RPM's? Is the noise always there?

scorpi0- actually the sound from the 1st video isn’t consistent and is random. However, when I’m parked and hear that sound I have popped the hood and the sound is almost completely gone. The humming sound (2nd video) is influenced by speed of vehicle. I have also thrown it into neutral hoping it wasn’t trans related and the humming remains consistent. The humming doesn’t start until I’m going over 40mph

thanks

Follow up on isolating the issue. I was able to conclude the humming sound only occurs when the turning left. In the video below I’m driving through a bending interstate, over 45 mph.

hopefully this provides enough info for any help

Sounds like something on the exhaust rattling. Start by inspecting the catalytic converter heat shields.

Things like this are easy to troubleshoot if you talk to a local lube shop with a pit and pay them to use the pit for 15 minutes during their downtime. Usually those guys are bored and will help you poke around and find the problem. I suggest bringing a long screwdriver or prybar so you can push up against various components to try to make the sound go away.

First video it sounded almost like a bad throwout bearing? Is it a 5AT or 6MT equipped model?
