Oil pressure light

Hello, the last 3 days or so when I break my oil pressure light comes on for a second and then goes away. Starting to do it more and more. I did recently just get and oil change done but am gonna do another one today and see if that fixes the problem. Do you guys have any other suggestions to keep an eye out for?

I'd check the oil level first, our engines are known for using oil. Your car needs to sit about an hour to get an accurate reading.

I let my car sit for about an hour and a half and then did the oil change. I changed my oil probably about 2500km ago from a quick stop oil change place. When I did it myself this time and drained the oil barely any came out..and I’m talking barely any. So I filled her up put new oil filter and watched for leaks but nothing so far. Running fine again now. Any thoughts?

I think you need to learn the most basic rule of owning an automobile, CHECK THE OIL LEVEL REGULARLY.

Its not leaks u gotta watch for. These engines burn oil. My car burns a quart of oil every 3K miles...and thats considered good compared to most others. Let the car sit overnight so the engine is full cold. Check your oil level in the morning. Top it off and keep checkin the oil level every week or two until you figure out how much oil your car burns per every 1000 miles.

I reset my odometer when I do an oil change. Then dump a quart of oil in it every 3K miles.

Hopefully your bearings haven't taken any damage. When you see the oil light that means no oil pressure and your crankshaft is riding on the bearings. Only takes a few seconds of that under load to ruin the motor.

do you think a oil catch can would be beneficial? Oil cooler? Oil pan spacer? Mine is an 03 auto.

Oil cooler no. Oil pan spacer no. Oil catch can...maybe just a little. Depends how your engine is burning oil.

Put on a gauge and see what the pressure actually is. Might just be a bad sender, might be something worse.
