330 HP (+70) Chip for G35C

I went in for my first dealer oil change today (brought my own mobile 1) and the service person told me that they are comin out with a chip that you can put in the G35C that will boost its power output to 330 HP and it'll be dealer installed, entirely covered under warranty and retail for 500-700 bux... I told her I wanted to be the first person in Houston to have it installed, but I'm quite skeptical... has anybody else heard anything along these lines? I mean an M3 only has 333 HP. If I get that chip, all of a sudden stis, evos don't seem like such a threat anymore...

how many cars can gain that much just from a chip that don't have a turbo or supercharger already. that's alittle hard to believe.

Re: 330 HP (+70) Chip for G35C

Just called my dealer and they told me the same thing.

HOWEVER

They said it was gonna be in the 800 to 900 dollar range...

But I told them to call me FIRST when they get it in because I wanna be the first in So Cali to have it installed.

Re: 330 HP (+70) Chip for G35C

I gotta agree: this is way too good to be true. Not only that, 330 hp total from just a chip is almost impossible. But, if three diff dealers have said it.... I got another idea: someone call Nissan/Infiniti and confirm or deny this [now] "urban legend".

If the honchos in Torrance confirm it, I'm in line, too! Even at 800-900 bucks, you can't get that kind of horses for anything less. Borla says 20 hp, Stillen 15 or whatever, K&N or Injen, maybe max 10hp.

NISMO, NISMO, wherefor art thou?

Anyone make the call? Plz post results. thanx.

Good idea Bond.

You should call (since you brought up the idea) and let us know if our dealer's have their heads up there @$$'s about this chip or not. To me it's no biggie.. The care already put's out 280 and I wouldn't mind another 70hp... I already have an extra 5 to 7 with my intake.

EDDIE, What dealer in So. Cal. did you call? I tried Costa Mesa where I go and they hadn't heard anything of the sort. Then they asked me why I would want more power. HA!! that's so comical to me. Anyway it does sound a little too good to be true. Most ECU upgrades only offer that kind of power to turbo charged cars. I think I'll try to call another dealer and see.

Re: 330 HP (+70) Chip for G35C

280 hp plus 70hp = 350 hp not 330 hp, that right there tells me his dealer is full of $hit. from my experience the dealers and salesmen seem to know nothing about our cars. so my opinion is it is not true, and like someone else posted you will be lucky to get 10-20 hp from a chip.

Re: 330 HP (+70) Chip for G35C

Yeh what AntRock said.....We all know about some salespeeps. 'nuf said. But a chip would yield maybe 15 HP.
A turbo or superch. would be more like 70!
