The install was done by an Infiniti dealer and it took @ 15 minutes. I gave no input on the programming of the remote. They kept the valet key - I don't remember the exact reason why.

So you were able to keep the stock fey fob and add remote start. Cool. Any idea if it can be done with the intellikey on an 05? I like it and dont want to trash that whole system. I also dont want to tack on a completely independant system and have another key fob. I was told when I bought the car it was impossiable. But the salesman has already been wrong on a few other things.

Another question. How do you turn the car off with remote start on an 05 with ikey? Do you switch the key to the on position then off? Is there a way to turn the engine off with the remote start system as well?

I cannot answer for 05 with I key. To turn the engine you just press the lock 3 times. If you run to the store or any other quick errand and you want to keep the engine running, press the lock button 3 times with the key in the ignition, then remove key, the engine will stay running. When you return to the car, just reinsert key and turn to on.
