Question ECU Reset Help??

After I reset the ECU once and drove the car around for a while, I tried to do it again (just to make sure I had the procedure down). I got all the way to the slow-blinking Check Engine Light, took my foot off the gas pedal, then put it back down for the final 10 seconds. The Check Engine Light continued to blink slowly - - but it never blinked quickly and it just went back into regular illumination mode. I, apparently, didn't get it into that final reset mode. Any thoughts? Do you have to log some time on the ECU before it can be reset again?

Thanks for any input you guys might be able to provide.

i dont know what ecu reset you're doing. try disconnecting the battery and holding down the brake pedal for about 30 sec to drain the rest out of the power of the sesytem. then reconnect battery, everything should be reset.

Thanks.

I did the easy reset:
Turn ignition to 'on'
Wait 3 seconds
Floor gas pedal 5 times in 5 seconds, etc.

Appreciate the input

You don't just let off the pedal when it starts to blink slowly. You keep holding it down for the final 10 seconds (even when it is still blinking).

1) Turn ignition on.
2) Wait 3 seconds then stomp on gas pedal 5 times (within 5 seconds)
3) Wait 7 seconds
4) Stomp on pedal and hold for 10 seconds.
5) Release and immediately stomp on gas pedal for another 10 seconds (usually the check engine light starts blinking slowly around the 3-4 second of this process..........however, keep holding the pedal down for the full 10 seconds).

Ah . . . . I think my having broken the 10-second rule may be the problem. I'll let you know if that's it. Thanks very much!

Just as an FYI.

After you have held down the pedal for the final 10 seconds, the light will continue to blink. It never stops blinking. Go ahead and turn the ignition off after the final 10 seconds. The ECU will be reset.

Hope it works for you.........I bet it will!
