Just did the 12hr battery disconnect. Noticed a BIG difference right away.
Maybe it's because the ECU hasn't been reset since I originally bought the car 2 years ago. (don't ask why so long)
Shifting in MM was pretty laggy and the tranny was slow to shift into drive. Now, quicker MM shifting and most the lag is gone.
Next up is a 10-wire GroundingGear kit from Gordee. Can't wait!
Oh yeah, I plan on doing this disconnect at least once a month from now on.

Just did the gas pedal reset. I have 7000 miles on an 05 sedan with AT. Definitely had a positive result. I was skeptical at first and, at first, couldn't get the reset to work. But once I got the timing thing down, it absolutely worked as described. The result was great . . . feels like the race car I fell in love with before I bought it.

I wish there was a way to keep the car from going into "grandma mode". Having to reset the ECU constantly is extremely annoying.

One question:

After I reset the ECU once and drove the car around for a while, I tried to do it again (just to make sure I had the procedure down). I got all the way to the slow-blinking Check Engine Light, took my foot off the gas pedal, then put it back down for the final 10 seconds. The Check Engine Light continued to blink slowly - - but it never blinked quickly and it just went back into regular illumination mode. I, apparently, didn't get it into that final reset mode. Any thoughts? Do you have to log some time on the ECU before it can be reset again?

Thanks for any input you guys might be able to provide.

Okay, I did this today and got it on the first try thanks to all of the tips. I definitely noticed a difference. I also noticed that my service light would come one whenever I lifted all the way off of the gas. Needless to say it freaked me out, so when I got to the next stop light I turned the car off and turned it back on. When I did that my shifts were back to grandma mode. Have you guys seen this issue when lifting off of the throttle? I've got an '05.

If I drive the living hell out of my ride isn't a reset pointless? I am definitely on the strong acceleration side of things with very little bumper to bumper. Would I see a difference?

WOOT! finally got this "easy" ecu reset thing to finally work. i usually had the ebrake on when i did it but on the last attempt i decieded to leave it off. i doubt that was the problem, probably got lucky =). as for the results, it doesn't necessarily shift THAT quick as compared to before, but it does show a more aggersive run than before

Stupid question but what is the point of resetting the ECU? IS this procedure only for after you get the aftermarket ECU?
