That was posted somewhere on another thread a few years back. But it's really hard to find, so it's useful to re-post.

So does this process only erase any trouble codes? Can somebody clarify how this resets the car's learning to provide better engine response with the new mods.

It's supposed to reset the trouble codes and the ECU back to base values which may or may not be a good thing. If you've been "grannying" your car with conservative driving, it can bring back a bit of pep in performance. If you've been driving aggressively, it may make your car feel relatively sluggish.

Try it and decide for yourself to see if your car/driving style justify the few minutes it takes to do on a regular basis.

My car seems to be drinking fuel as if it was free after the ECU reset? How long would it take for it to get back to the normal MPG?

Some others have reported this as well, especially if you've been "grannying" the car previously. It usually takes only a few days for the ECU to re-adjust.
