Amsoil for me

I've used it on my G and my old GTI, and it did wonders. When I switched from synthetic blend oil to full synth, there was a HUGE difference.

Considering the miniscule hp diff between dino and the most expensive synthetics, how could you even tell?

HP? Oil analysis results? mpg??

I don't have the manual with me at work, so how much oil does this car(06 5AT) take? I plan on buying some AMSOIL ASL SAE 5W-30(Is this the one I need), and need to know how many quarts. Also, do we have a choice at the dealership of which oil/filter combo to use. Because I'd get M1 from them if they have it.

Isn't Mobil 1 extended what regular mobil 1 was a few years ago before they changed the branding to extended and introduced a more "cost effective" (for them, not the end user) version that they then called regular mobil 1?

What is that K&N filter number by the way?

I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic. It works great...definately felt smoother in the upper rpm's compared to conventional regular oil.
