I like mine. It dampens crank oscillations and gives a convenient location for belt drive. I give it two thumbs up. I just wish it was 2 pounds lighter so my car would accelerate 25% faster. I vote yes I love my pulley.

I have had my UR set on for 30K miles. Acceleration is improved. No problems and oil analysis says all is well.

Need more choices. I do know this: after installing the crank pulley I did not have to hit the accelerator to back out of my garage or pull away from a standing stop on a flat surface. The car wanted to go by itself.

You will never get a good answer to this question. I like the mod. I offer no empirical evidence beyond that which I stated above. That is at least as good as the theorists, naysayers and holy crusaders on both sides who frequent this debate. Is it really worth nearly $200 for 1hp-8hp (depending on your source)? Probably not, even with the most optimistic of performance measurements. Is it worth all the debate and angst and jerk comments from those who just have to post (again and again and again and again) every time the debate comes up (again and again and again and again). If your time is worth anything you've wasted more than $200. Why not mod instead? Put it on if you like modding your car. Test it if that is your bent. Hate it if that is your bent. I vote STFU about it. It is a tired tired tired tired subject. Read a post from two years ago. The conclusion will be the same. NO CONCLUSION! Guess what this post will resolve (no offense to the original poster)? NOTHING! I dare DaveB and MechEE NOT TO POST. Just not in your nature I suppose.

I know this : I have the original anodized blue UR crank pulley (w/ Gates belts) that looks incredibly nice... ...but they're still sitting, new in the box. The divided opinions and having the MREV sitting here has me wanting to sell the CP and belts for the MREV install cost (while also avoiding cost of install of the CP).

So, I guess I'm just another person, without first-hand experience, who can't offer any substantial commentary about the mod. At this point, I'd rather not have to concern myself with either side of the discussion.

The only thing substantial that I can offer you is that I'd really like to see this (limited edition) blue UR CP go to a fellow board member, and I'd be more than willing to reflect that in the price.

it's not about the gain in hp w/ this mod.... it's about how much more nimble the car feels to the driver.... i personally feel it and love it....

The UR pieces are very well done. It is precision machined stuff. Way better than the original cast unit. The engine does feel smoother and guess what? All the accessories are turning 15% slower. Theoretically should last 15% longer. No?

It is nice to hear other peoples / new G-drivers thoughts on the subject thou. Rather than the veterans prospective. One thing nobody has posted reguarding the UR crank pulley is that your car is either accelerating or deccelerating, what I'm trying to say is it doesn't coast when you let off the gas pedal. Has anybody else noticed that?

Too late!

Obviously a purely lightened crank pullies are awesome! I mean, 2 less pounds, 3500 pound car, obviously it's going to be way faster! End of debate. Yay for crank pullies!

And what's better than a lighter crank pulley? No crank pulley! I'm going to remove mine all together for MAXIMUM gains baby. And if I'm really lucky, I'll free up so much power that not only will I not need to give the car any gas to get out of the driveway, I won't even have to start the car!
